About the College

PSN College of Engineering and Technology (PSNCT), Tirunelveli, was established by the PSN Educational and Charitable Trust in the year 2000 under the leadership of Dr. P. S. N. Murthy, a multi-tasked personality with admirable academic brilliance.

The College is located at Melathediyoor, 12km away from Tirunelveli unfolding its grandeur over 27 acres of land. The College exhibits an attractive panorama conducive to education and research due to its serene surroundings covered by rows green trees at the backdrop of mountains with birds chirping all time.

PSN College of Engineering and Technology was conferred with AUTONOMOUS status by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi from 2013 onwards enabling the college to fulfill the aspirations of the students in getting quality education and better employment.

The PSN group with a network of eight institutions has made tremendous strides in the field of higher education.

PSNCT offers 10 UG and 5 PG programmes. This institution has been recognized u/s (2f) (12B) by UGC, accredited by NAAC. The college has four centres of excellence - PSN-BOSCH REXROTH, PSN-INTEL, PCB design and PSN-National Instruments. This is an ISO 9001:2015 certified institution. The College has signed MOU with University of Malaysia Pahang for staff & student exchange, and collaborative research with VECC, Kolkata.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, established in 2001, has been dedicated to fostering academic excellence and industry-focused research. With state-of-the-art laboratories, highly experienced faculty, advanced computing facilities, and professional development programs, the department has made significant strides in producing skilled and innovative graduates.

The department offers B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, M.E. Computer Science and Engineering, and Ph.D. programs, catering to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral research scholars. The programs are designed to meet the demands of evolving technologies and are accredited by NBA.

Students graduating from the department have demonstrated exceptional competence in both academic and professional domains, excelling in India and abroad. The faculty actively engages in publishing papers in prestigious journals and presenting research at national and international conferences. The department has also successfully conducted sponsored seminars, workshops, coding marathons, conferences, and awareness programs to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The department is also involved in consultancy services, collaborating with industries and research organizations to contribute to real-world problem-solving and technological advancements. Some of the clients include government organizations, startups, and private agencies focusing on AI solutions, software development, and cybersecurity.

TIRUNELVELI

Climate

Tirunelveli experiences a tropical climate with significant rainfall throughout the year. The region benefits from both the northeast and southwest monsoons, with the majority of precipitation occurring during the northeast monsoon. The Thamirabarani River and its tributaries provide consistent irrigation, supporting the area's agriculture.

People

The district is home to a diverse population engaged in agriculture, trade, and various industries. The community is known for its rich cultural heritage, celebrating festivals like Pongal, Diwali, and Tamil New Year with enthusiasm.

Language

Tamil is the primary language spoken in Tirunelveli. Due to educational and professional interactions, many residents are also conversant in English.

Transportation

PSNCET provides robust transportation facilities for its students and staff, operating a fleet of buses connecting the campus to various parts of Tirunelveli and its suburban areas. The buses ply to and from prominent locations, including Tirunelveli Junction, Tirunelveli Town, Pabanasam, Nagercoil, Kalakad, VK Puram, Sankar Nagar, Ambasamudram, Nanguneri, Chermadevi, Tuticorin, Palayamkottai, Valliyoor, and Ramayanpatti.The district is well-connected by a network of roads and railways, with Tirunelveli city serving as the main junction. The nearest airports are Tuticorin Airport (approximately 32 km away), Madurai Airport (around 150 km), and Thiruvananthapuram Airport (about 158 km).
